As a Vietnam veteran (two tours), I was appalled to learn of Romeoville`s beastly plan to enact an ordinance to set a maximum fine of $1 for anyone who beats up a flag-burner in that town.
I can only conclude from this action that Romeoville`s mayor and village trustees have become infected with the rampant, insidious disease sweeping the nation that transforms people into non-ruminant, omnivorous, ungulate, bristly mammals clothed in red, white and blue short pants.
It is imperative that the remaining intelligent and well-informed people in and around Romeoville prevent the escape of any of its Orwellian characters to outlying areas.
