Harvard and Miriam Sohn of Herrin, Ill., announce the engagement of their daughter, Nancy, to Michael Simon, a son of Sylvia Simon of Geneva and the late Sol Simon.
The future bride is a graduate of Duke University and the University of Illinois School of Law. She also earned a master`s degree from Yale University. She is an attorney with the Chicago law firm of Goldberg, Kohn, Bell, Black, Rosenbloom & Moritz.
Her father is president of Sohn`s Clothing Stores in Herrin. Her mother is a homemaker.
The prospective bridegroom, a Purdue University graduate, is president of the Merra-Lee Shops, a group of seven women`s clothing stores in Geneva. He also is co-owner of The Little Traveler, a home furnishings, gift and fashion boutique and restaurant, also in Geneva.
His mother is fashion director for the Merra-Lee Shops. His late father founded the clothing stores.
An outdoor wedding at the future bride`s parents` home is planned for later this month.
