The article on helmets for bike riders made a real impact.

I`m in a wheelchair with a closed-head injury. I fell off a horse, and a rock went into my head. I was in a coma for several months. When I came out of it, about five years ago, my right side was paralyzed, I have no short-term memory, had to sell my lovely ranch in Arizona, most of my Paso Fino horses, and move back here.

All this because I hurt my head, which wouldn`t have happened if I`d worn a helmet.

If those kids who think ”it`s not cool” to wear a helmet knew what I lost-and they could lose-then I bet being ”cool” would not be as important as being safe.
