I am disgusted with the fact that Nelson Mandela is being criticized for his ”violence if necessary” stance against apartheid.

If you had been treated in as hateful a way and then imprisoned for 27 years for your beliefs, wouldn`t you feel a little anger?

How can we as Americans complain about his ”violence if necessary”

stance when, if we don`t agree with the politics of other governments-such as Vietnam, Grenada, Panama, El Salvador, Cuba and Nicaragua-we use violence?

Instead of condemning him, why don`t we help him find other ways to gain freedom for his people, a struggle for which he has literally given up his life.
