The liberal columnists, cartoonists and commentators who dominate our national news media have started drooling over President George Bush`s plan to increase taxes a bit. (This will destroy his chances for re- election, the savants say.)
Not so, of course. The Bush administration and conservative courts are carrying out most of the Republican campaign promises. Bush will get the
”Silent Majority” vote because it has no other place to go. He should also get lots of Democratic votes, since congressional Democrats keep working for higher taxes.
