There really is a nice, polite, big city. I had not been in Chicago in more than 15 years, but I have been in virtually all of the major U.S. cities in recent years.
At first I thought it very unusual that while attending baseball games at both Wrigley Field and Comiskey Park, people you brushed into would counter with ”excuse me.”
I thought at first it was unusual that on the busy freeways of Chicago, a turn signal light would almost invariably mean that you could change lanes without the usual aggressiveness of most major cities.
I was much impressed with the friendliness of everyone I came in contact with at the Shedd Aquarium, the Museum of Science and Industry and the Field Museum of Natural History. On my visit to the Arlington International Racecourse, where I race thoroughbred horses, I was especially impressed with not only the facility but with the kindness and friendliness of the people involved.
You are living in a great city of which you can be very proud. It was my great pleasure to share a week with you.
