Making quick breads, as the name implies, can be done in short order. But there are times when even whipping up a batch of banana bread is just too time consuming. It`s good to know, then, that Cookiemania is there and ready to help.

The mail-order cookie firm has added new flavors to their small selection of quick breads, which they call tea breads: a moist and tender sour cream cinnamon, and two seasonal flavors, cranberry and pumpkin. The new flavors are in addition to the banana, zucchini, orange pecan, lemon pecan and strawberry pecan flavors already in the lineup. All can be frozen at home for those emergency situations when guests drop in, or when you just don`t have time to bake your own.

According to co-owner Jeri Dry, the firm decided to expand the selection around the time they moved their baking operation to Dinkel`s Bakery, 3329 N. Lincoln Ave., where they share the ovens and some counter space. Customers can buy the new breads and the full line of cookies there or call 935-5566 for mail-order. The breads are $4.50 per 13-ounce loaf.
