President Bush and the first lady have just christened another marine dinosaur, a nuclear-powered aircraft carrier named in honor of George Washington. We commissioned one of these expensive toys last year, and I understand there are two more to follow.
In the name of world peace and fiscal sanity, they should be consigned to the scrap heap along with the Stealth bomber. I wonder what Gen. Washington, if he were here, would think about this heedless waste of our resources.
