Assuming that Operation PUSH has the influence over young black consumers that it claims, I have some unsolicited advice. Instead of boycotting Nike, educate these same consumers to buy gym shoes according to price and value rather than hype. In the process, they will save $30 to $50 a pair.
The money they save should be invested with Operation PUSH as venture capital to be made available to black business people wishing to start their own businesses. The shares purchased will, of course, pay dividends.
Very quickly the price of Nike (and other manufacturers`) shoes will be reduced to a normal level. The young consumers can then go back to buying Nike and still continue to invest in additional shares of venture capital.
