As current events in the Persian Gulf and the Middle East unfold, it is of the outmost importance for the United States` security and interests that we have a reliable, friendly and strong ally in the region, one that can act as a stationary aircraft carrier and staging facility for our military, in case of need.
This aptly applies to our good friend Israel. I strongly urge our government to increase its military and economic aid to Israel at this crucial time in history, so that a strong and viable Israel can be a buffer to the expansionist mania of Iraq leader Saddam Hussein.
