Shedd Aquarium on Monday postponed the public opening of its new oceanarium, a $43 million indoor marine mammal pavilion, from November to March, 1991, because of faulty paint in the facility`s giant whale pools.
Shedd Director William P. Braker said aquarium officials decided to completely repaint the pools after blemishes, described as bubbling, appeared on the walls of the whale habitats.
