There is one glaring omission in your story about public aid benefits, as in so many articles of this type: any mention whatsoever of the father and his responsibility in the matter.

After all these years of so-called progress in the area of women`s rights, men are still not being required by society to support the children they have brought into this world. And who suffers as a result? The children, the mothers-and, of course, the taxpayers. Something is wrong here.
