American Airlines, in association with the City Colleges of Chicago, will begin classes on Sept. 4 in the first airline-sponsored aviation maintenance training program. The American Airlines Maintenance Academy, located at Midway Airport, will be open to all qualified applicants seeking post-high school training in aircraft maintenance. American will invest $5 million to establish the academy.
