Tool orders fall 11.9%: Machine tool orders placed with U.S.
manufacturers fell 11.9 percent, to $233.75 million, in July from June levels as exports fell sharply. Analysts said the decline reflects weakness in the economy as well as seasonal shutdowns of auto plants.
