Charles ”Chubby” Carman, 79, a former vaudeville performer and theatrical agent, died Aug. 29 at home in Tampa. As a young man, he and Mitzie, his wife of 50 years, were part of an apache act, a novelty act that performed in England, Australia and throughout the United States. He subsequently was an agent and managed the Plitt Water Tower theaters. His wife is his only survivor. A memorial service for Mr. Carman will be held Friday in Buffalo Center, Iowa.
