Abusive bosses are likely to have been abused as children and could cost U.S. companies up to $5 billion in lost revenues and health care expenses, according to a report issued by the Bureau of National Affairs. The private publishing and public policy organization estimates that ”as many as one of four supervisors are running their offices the way their parents ran their households-often screaming, yelling, unfairly criticizing, and engaging in other forms of abusive behavior.”
