I read with considerable interest the letter in this column on Sept. 6 from Theodore S. Ashbell, in which he chastised certain U.S. servicemen for not challenging Saudi Arabian customs and religion in restricting women from certain places and activities. What a true ”ugly American”!

Now that we have occupied Saudi Arabia, let`s force our life style, our customs, our beliefs on their people.

Sorry, but I thought this brand of conversion was buried at Wounded Knee and Sand Creek.
