Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

I am the mother of twins age 4 who are ready for pre-school. I am having the same problems as before when I wanted to put my other two children in pre- school. I work for a living so I do not really qualify. The first question they ask is, ”Are you on pubic aid?” I say no, I am a working mother. Then I am told they can be placed on a waiting list.

The school is right behind my house, but because I do not stay at home and collect welfare, my kids can`t attend pre-school unless I go out of my way to a day care center. Then I have to make arrangements with my employer so I can take them to school and pick them up. Don`t the taxes I pay help some with public school? Yet my kids are deprived from getting a head start since I work.

No wonder so many are on public aid. It seems as if the benefits are great.
