A recent letter to the editor about school uniforms struck a responsive chord.
For the life of me I cannot understand how wearing uniforms in school could be dangerous and damaging to pride and self-esteem or cause feelings of deep resentment.
When I wore uniforms eons ago in school, I thought they were great! I never had to worry about what to wear the next day, or try to keep up with the more affluent students who had great wardrobes. Being the middle child in a family of seven, I was lucky to get out the door with shoes and socks that matched!
