Hooked on the holidays? Here`s a unique market of trimmings, treasures and artful accessories that showcases the work of 75 contemporary artisans from 15 states.

In its 16th year, the ”Christmas at the Faire” show at the Du Page County Fair Grounds has gained a reputation for presenting the work of artisans who design fresh, new and exciting crafts that are affordable.

An expanded Santa exhibit, including versions from 40 artists across the country, should begin to get you in the mood for the holidays. But fall`s most freaked-out festival, Halloween, won`t be neglected either.

The crafts, which include the work of weavers, carvers, fiber artists, basketmakers, herb-gatherers, floral artists and more, are presented in atmospheric settings.

Theme areas, such as country, Victorian, traditional, contemporary, seasonal, gourmet, wearable art, etc. make the show a visual pleasure.

Special vignettes will feature individual artisans.

Woodcarving demonstrations by Sue Parsons will take place throughout the show.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. next Saturday and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. next Sunday. Admission is $3.

A benefit preview from 6 to 10 p.m. Thursday will include early buying privileges with a sampler of harvest savories catered by True Cuisine. Tickets are $18 each, which includes readmission for the duration of the show. Reservations are required for the preview. For more information, call 708-920-4799.
