Abbott Laboratories said its drug for prostate cancer won Food and Drug Administration approval for use against endometriosis, a disease that causes pain and infertility in an estimated 5 million American women. The drug, Lupron Depot, shuts down production of the hormone estrogen, short-circuiting the disease, said company spokesmen.
