Regarding Betty J. Costabile`s Oct. 17 letter praising Cincinnati`s anti- pornography campaign:
The 1st Amendment arguments aside, it is curious that Ms. Costabile advocates the prohibition of pornography (photographic images depicting consenting adults engaging in sexual activities) because of a supposed
”undeniable” link between such images and violence.
Meanwhile, in the movie theaters, video stores and homes of virtually every community in America, the likes of ”Rambo,” ”The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” and ”Night of the Living Dead” depict unrestricted incessant images of murder, mutilation and cannibalism.
Apparently in Ms. Constabile`s vision of America, physical pleasure is a menace to society while butchery and carnage are acceptable methods of normal human interaction.
