My girlfriends and I were pulled over by a policeman on the inner drive for having three people in the front of a small pickup without proper seat belt protection, and lectured on the laws of driving a small pickup on the inner drive. We were very grateful, however, that he thought of our safety, and I`m sure none of us will ever do such a thing again!
But recently, while smashed inside a bus, wondering if I was really living in India, I got to wondering if something isn`t awry with the authors of ”Rules of the Road.” How can it possibly be legal for a bus to transport 68 (I counted) people, the majority of them standing or swaying, none of us with seat belts, careering down Lake Shore Drive during rush hour!?
