Cook County State`s Atty.-elect Jack O`Malley said ethics and public integrity will get the special attention of his transition team, as he introduced the 19-member panel Thursday.
Though he is the first Republican to win the office in a decade, O`Malley gave assurances that employees in the office will not be swept out. He picked transition team chairman William Kunkle, a former first assistant state`s attorney, to head a special committee to review personnel.
Other members of the transition team, which O`Malley said will advise him for a month or longer after he takes office Dec. 3, include former U.S. attorneys, former state and federal prosecutors, retired judges, police officers and professors.
