I was delighted to learn from Mr. Derbyshire (Nov. 7, ”Smoking in the mall”) that Woodfield bans smoking. How encouraging for shoppers to know that an atmosphere that is conducive to good health is available and supported by a health-conscious community.
Mr. Derbyshire need not travel so far to shop anyway: The Des Plaines Mall, in his own back yard, allows smoking. Perhaps he will better enjoy spending his money there.
