Jean-Pierre Bosze never was ”denied” lifesaving treatment for leukemia, as your Nov. 20 article suggests; he never had a right to it. The courts were correct to forbid forced marrow compatibility testing of his half-brother and half-sister. As tragic as a young person`s imminent death from cancer is, it does not justify the precedent that would be set by forcible violation of others` bodies.

The day on which government can require anyone to undergo a test of invasive procedure solely for another`s benefit is the day on which we all lose our inherent dignity and become mere means to others` ends.
