We are closing one landfill a day in the United States, mainly because they are full. Our wastes are exceeding our ability to get rid of them. Because of the NIMBY (Not In My Backyard) syndrome, there will probably be no more landfills.
Especially during the gift-giving season, we notice a lot of products with excessive packaging. People need to send a message to marketers that we will not buy products when the wrappings are wasteful. Businesses don`t need to ignore the environment to sell products.
