The Tribune`s whiny editorial about too many color names (”On re-inventing the rainbow,” Dec. 21) contains the expression ”dropped faster than Notre Dame`s football team.” If the writer wishes to imply that the team isn`t very good (since it has consistently been highly ranked), check with Michigan, Michigan State, Purdue, Air Force, Miami, Pittsburgh, Navy, Tennessee and Southern California. Notre Dame beat them all and remains a contender for the national championship.
