Joseph Szalkowski, 77, a retired interior furnishings salesman and milkman in the southwest suburbs for more than 25 years, died Wednesday in Copley Memorial Hospital, Aurora. Mr. Szalkowski, who lived in Aurora, spent much of his life as his own boss, running first his dairy business and then J.H. Interiors in Downers Grove. He retired in 1979. Mr. Szalkowski is survived by two sons, James and Gerald; a daughter, Marilyn Robertson; a brother; a sister; 10 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday in Toon Funeral Home, 109 N. Cass Ave., Westmont.
