Sol C. Spiegel, 87, founder and president of the former Midland Development Corp., died Wednesday in his Winnetka home. A resident of Winnetka for 50 years, Mr. Spiegel was president of the development firm at 176 W. Adams St. from 1936 until it dissolved in 1951. Most of the company`s land development and residential building was done in suburban Northlake. Mr. Spiegel was a charter board member and one of the founders of Roosevelt University. He is survived by his wife, Mary; two daughters, Caryl Cole and Bobby Jacobs; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday in Weinstein Brothers Chapel, 111 Skokie Blvd., Wilmette.
