Six major Japanese trading houses plan to offer $1 billion in food and other goods to the Soviet Union in exchange for crude oil.
Our government recently announced that it will extend credit to the Soviets for purchase of $1 billion in grain.
The fact that the Soviets have not been paying their past loans on time and have put a freeze on paying many of their foreign debts does not deter our government from making this latest loan. Maybe it`s time we learn how to do business from our Japanese ”friends”.
