A proposal for a highway overpass to relieve traffic backups at Lake-Cook Road and Milwaukee Avenue in Wheeling will be the topic of a public hearing.
The Cook County Highway Department and Illinois Department of Transportation will hold the hearing from 2 to 8 p.m. Jan. 31 at the Holiday Inn Crowne Plaza, 2855 Milwaukee Ave., Northbrook.
The agencies propose building a six-lane bridge to carry Lake-Cook over Milwaukee, along with exit and entrance ramps and new traffic signals, according to Bob Hedrick, chief engineer of transportation and planning for the county.
