If I can complain about your editorials, I also can give credit when you`re right on!

Congratulations on your editorial of Jan. 8, ”Closing in on Martwick`s office.” Let me point out an important fact that we learned during hearings on my ordinance requiring county officials to invest public funds in interest- bearing accounts. Regional School Supt. Martwick is not the only official who has engaged in that practice. It was a bipartisan problem; former Sheriff James O`Grady, a Republican, used non-interest bearing accounts also.

Rest assured that this is not rhetoric. I will stay on this problem so that county funds will be invested in interest-bearing accounts wherever practicable.
