Thomas C. Sheffield Jr. of Chicago and Sandra S. Sheffield of Lake Forest and Nantucket, Mass., announce the engagement of their daughter, Grace Wacker Sheffield, to Thomas Alan Patterson, a son of Dr. William R. Patterson of Grand Junction, Colo., and Joan T. Patterson of Denver.
The future bride, a Harvard University graduate, is an evaluator for the U.S. General Accounting Office. She is a provisional member of the Junior League of Chicago and a junior member of the Woman`s Athletic Club of Chicago. She made her debut at the Passavant Cotillion.
Her father is a member of the Chicago Board of Trade and a partner of the Kenosha Trading Co.
The future bridegroom is an honors graduate of Harvard University. After graduation he spent a year studying and traveling on a Rotary Foundation scholarship. He is a business analyst at McKinsey & Co., Cleveland, a management consulting company.
His father is an orthopedic surgeon.
His mother is a graduate student in divinity at St. Thomas Seminary, Denver.
A June wedding in Lake Forest is planned.
