Concerns that Mundelein`s sewage treatment plant may be inadequate for rapid village growth has prompted the Village Board to approve a $60,000 study concerning possible expansion.

Trustee Gerald Caslavka, the Public Works Committee chairman, told the board Monday night that the engineering firm of Baxter & Woodman will survey the facility to determine what plans, if any, should be developed to provide for expected increases in services.

”The cost of the study will be paid for out of an existing sewer expansion fund consisting of contributions from developers,” Caslavka said. He said the study would probably be completed later this year.
