The Arlington Heights Village Board has approved engineering work that is expected to alleviate flooding in a northeast section of the village.
The board authorized village staff to negotiate a contract with Harza Environmental Services Inc. to design a sewer and drop shaft for the Weller Creek watershed at a cost not to exceed $600,000.
The area has seen flooding problems the last several years.
Work on the project is scheduled to begin next year with completion of the initial phase expected in 1993.
