The defense rested its case Friday in the criminal trial of Chicago Magnet Wire Corp. without testimony from any of the five current or former executives. The company and the five executives are being tried on charges of knowingly exposing 37 workers to toxic chemicals at the company plant in Elk Grove Village in the early 1980s.
