Here is a list of some support groups and resource materials that address midlife and menopause:

– Prentice Women`s Hospital, the Menopause Center, conducts monthly information sessions. Information from Melinda Noonan, coordinator of the Health Learning Center, 1-312-908-7503.

– Women`s Health Resources offers the Midlife Women`s Discussion Group, a six-month support group. Meetings are twice a month at 1003 W. Wellington Ave. Information: Nancy Curran, 1-312-525-1177.

– ”Menopause Naturally,” by Sadja Greenwood (Volcano Press, $11.95), suggests a holistic approach to menopause.

– ”Midlife Health: Every Woman`s Guide to Feeling Good” by Ada P. Kahn and Linda Hughey Holt, M.D. (Facts on File Publications, $4.95) offers a general overview on maintaining health after 40.

– The National Women`s Health Network, a non-profit advocacy group and research clearinghouse, offers ”Taking Hormones and Women`s Health: Choices, Risks, Benefits,” a compendium of research and policy recommendations; and
