Selections include eggs benedict, potatoes O`Brien, french toast, sausage, jumbo sausage, crab salad, pasta, chicken salad, Caesar salad, coffee cakes and sweet rolls, fruit trays, poached salmon, lox and bagels, smoked salmon, Swedish-style pastries, rum balls, chocolate mousse cups and cookies. Selections include grilled brook trout with brown butter, pine nuts and French green beans, chicken au vin rouge and Eggs Louisiana, poached on a crisp salmon cake with hollandaise sauce. The a la carte menu is Santa Fe-style, with fresh juices and a selection of New Mexican sweet breads and steamed corn pudding accompanying each order. Entrees of New Mexican heritage include a chili omelet, Taos omelet (fresh corn, zucchini, onion and beans topped with cheese), breakfast burrito of bacon, peppers, potatoes and onions scrambled with two eggs and blue corn pancakes. Brunch in the hotel`s main restaurant overlooking the lobby rotunda features a pianist and a 30-item buffet for $22 for adults, $12 for children under 13. For Easter, there will be live jazz entertainment, an Easter egg hunt, a huge, guess-the-weight chocolate Easter egg and, on the buffet, baby leg of lamb and smoked fish; hours extend to 3 p.m. and prices are $24 and $12. This singles bar offers eggs benedict, $7.75, eggs ranchero, $6.75, and eggs McGuire with ham steak and swiss, $7.75, all made with four eggs and hash browns. Cafe Selmarie, 2327 W. Giddings St., 989-5595. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sundays. Brunch is a la carte, with items ranging from $3.75 to $9. Specialties include Selmarie french toast, prepared with a croissant, Triple Sec and whipped cream, topped with real maple syrup, for $5.95. The restaurant will be closed Easter, but open Mother`s Day with added items such as cheese blintzes with raspberry sauce and kiwi and omelettes stuffed with zucchini, sun-dried tomatoes and fontanella cheese. Cafe Spiaggia, 980 N. Michigan Ave., 280-2764. Noon to 4 p.m. Sundays. Open both Easter and Mother`s Day. Pizza reggio del sole (”rays of the sun,” $8.95) has prosciutto and an egg cracked on top and like other pizzas here is baked in a wood-burning oven. There`s tortelli Spiaggia with spinach, ricotta and an egg inside ($9.95); millefoglie with scrambled eggs, pancetta and goat cheese ($8.95) and various frittatas. Parking in building. Selections, which vary weekly, can include sirloin, fish, duck breast in champagne wine sauce, a pasta station that includes 10 ingredients to saute with, full omelet station and dessert station. Brunch in a North Woods setting includes skillet eggs (hash browns with choice of bacon, ham or spinach topped with cheddar cheese and two basted eggs, $5.95), the Door County breakfast (two basted eggs, smoked whitefish and warm biscuits with honey, $6.95) and the Canoe Club scramble (scrambled eggs with green pepper, onion, mushrooms and cheese curd, $5.95). This restaurant`s revamped menu offers several egg items at brunch time, often including a smoked salmon eggs benedict, $9.95, and various seafood omelettes, priced from $8 to $9. Seatings at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Sundays. in the art deco Normandie Lounge include hot and cold hors d`oeurves, a carving station, pasta station, omelet station, fresh shrimp and crab claws and a dessert station. On Easter and Mother`s Day, brunch will move to the Grand Ballroom to accommodate increased demand. There the decor will include a chocolate bunny crafted by the pastry chef. Various stations include a salad bar, carved meats, pasta bar, vegetable medley and dessert bar. Complimentary champagne flows throughout the brunch. For Easter, J.W.`s will have seatings at 1 p.m., 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.; prices will be $24.95 for adults and $11.95 for children. Entrees will include roast leg of lamb and sauteed swordfish. In the La Plaza and Allie`s restaurants, brunch will be served from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. $21.95 for adults, $10.95 for children. Entrees include carved beef, lamb and ham. Appetizers include seafood gumbo and creme senegalaise soup (cold chicken curry). Entrees include eggs hussarde and eggs sardou-both variations of eggs benedict-Louisiana crabcakes, chicken hash and other specialties. Valet parking $6 for brunch guests. Wheelchair accessible. Dixie Que, 2001 W. Fullerton, 252-5600. 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays. Brunch features items from Mel Markon`s Lincoln Park restaurant as well as new offerings. Eggs benedict is $5.95, Nova lox and bagel is $6.95, and the holy smoker omelet, with red pepper, tomato, onion and smoked andouille sausage, is $5.25. Drake Hotel, 140 E. Walton St., 787-2200, Ext. 27. The Drake`s regular Sunday brunch is served in the Oak Terrace room from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for $24.75. The menu changes weekly but usually includes an extensive cold table with salads and pates, breakfast and luncheon items and dessert. Easter brunch is $29.95 ($14.50 for children under 12 and free for children under 5). The Easter bunny will hop from table to table with chocolate eggs and goodies. A balloon artist and videos also will be on hand to entertain the kids. Easter brunch will be served in two dining centers, with seatings at 10:30 and 11 a.m. and 12:30, 1, 2:30 and 3 p.m. in the Gold Coast Room and the same hours plus a 4 p.m seating in the Oak Terrace. The Easter menu will include salads, hot and cold hors d`oeurves, fish, vegetables, roast leg of lamb, lox and bagels, cold poached salmon, roast beef and omelets. Valet parking available. La Salle St., 663-8920. 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.on Mother`s Day will be the Everest Room`s one brunch this year, a sit-down affair with a variety of Alsatian specialties prepared by famed chef Jean Joho. Sunday brunch in the Primavera restaurant is 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. For $20 one gets a three-course meal with wide selection of appetizers, entrees and desserts. For Easter, Primavera is planning an a la carte feast of Italian cuisine, including apple beignets with cinnamon grappa cream, french toast of panettone with Roma tomatoes filled with crabmeat, cavatelli with lobster and a selection of desserts. Top price will be $24 for a three-course meal, $19 for senior citizens and $12 for children under $12. Easter breakfasts are also planned in the Moulin Rouge and Entre Nous rooms of the Fairmont. Four Farthings Tavern, 2060 N. Cleveland Ave., 935-2060. 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays. The informal Lincoln Park restaurant-bar offers a $12.95 buffet ($6.95 for children under 12) that includes poached salmon, seafood salad, fresh fruit, heated seafood pasta and chicken marsala. A la carte items include a poached salmon benedict, crabcake benedict and French toast stuffed with blueberries and strawberries. Parking is on the street or in a nearby hospital parking lot. Four Seasons, 900 N. Michigan Ave., 280-8800. The Seasons restaurant off the seventh floor lobby level of the hotel has two seatings for Sunday brunch, 10:30 a.m and 1 p.m. For $28 ($12.50 for children 12 and under), the buffet includes shrimp salad, Caesar salad, roast beef, pecan chicken, homemade rolls and pastries and desserts ranging from key lime pie to hand-dipped chocolate strawberries. Easter brunch, served at 10:30 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m., will be priced at $37.50, $12.50 for children 12 and under, and will include the roast leg of lamb, expanded appetizers, pates, eggs benedict and two more chef`s specials. The Easter theme will include photos with the bunny as well as a Mother Goose area where children`s entrees will be served. Appetizers include house-cured salmon with dill and marinated angel hair pasta and layered pancakes with apples, pecans and sunny-side eggs. Desserts include espresso-swirl creme brulee. Easter brunch is priced at $24.95, $12.95 for children under 12, and will feature an expanded menu.
