The Du Page County Board has announced a ground-breaking ceremony for the long-awaited Wood Dale-Itasca flood control project at 10 a.m. April 3 on Thorndale Avenue west of Salt Creek between Prospect Avenue and Wood Dale Road.

Phase One of the $52 million Wood Dale-Itasca Reservoir was to have begun last November, but was delayed. The reservoir will hold an estimated 591 million gallons of stormwater runoff, according to county officials.
