– Chad Hejza, Driscoll-The senior third baseman went 17 for 26 last week, with 25 runs batted in and 10 runs scored.

– Peter McDowell, New Trier-The senior third baseman went 12 for 23 with 12 runs scored and 13 RBIs in eight games last week.

– Jim Rushford, Maine South-The senior pitched, and won, his first game since his sophomore season, in addition to going 13 for 18 with five doubles and six RBIs.

– Maurice Taylor, Thornwood-The senior outfielder was 12 for 23 with three home runs and 12 RBIs in seven games last week.

SOCCER

– Kris Leddy, Stagg-The senior forward scored six goals and had one assist in three games to lead her team to the championship at the Romeoville tournament. SOFTBALL

– Liz Twietmeyer, Tinley Park-The junior pitcher went 8-0 last week, striking out 43 in 36 innings while pitching one no-hitter and one one-hitter. She also was 8 for 19 at the plate, with 14 RBIs.

– Dani Tyler, Oak Park-The junior shortstop didn`t make an out last week, going 8 for 8 with one homer and 11 RBIs.

TENNIS

– Benji Torres, Marian Catholic-The sophomore won five matches in two days last week and all were straight-set victories.

TRACK AND FIELD

– Rick Montalvo, West Chicago-He won the mile (4:34.0) and two-mile (9:46.9)

at the Wheaton North Best Four Meet Saturday.

– Mary Michal, Maine South-The senior won the 800 meters at the Niles West Meet in 2:37.3 and took first in the 1,600 meters at Glenbrook North in 5:46.
