The Kitty Kelley book about Nancy Reagan is absolutely atrocious. This book is on a par, or below, with those supermarket tabloids that feature stories like ”Male gives birth to 8-pound boy.”

A little bit of common sense would tell anyone that after about 50 years in the public eye, for the most part, these stories about the Reagans, if true, would have surfaced years ago. Perhaps the best use of the book is to shred it for kitty litter.

Moreoever, what is more incredible than the public buying this fantasy trash, is that a great newspaper, the Tribune, ran a front-page headline about the book. To paraphrase the late Illinois secretary of state, that edition was good only for wrapping dead fish.
