In regard to your story (May 18) about the CHA-imposed ban on firearms in public housing projects, CHA Chairman Vincent Lane argued that ”as long as all residents are treated equally, the CHA is within its rights in banning firearms.” Yet it was also stated that ”residents who work as security guards or who require guns for other types of law enforcement work are exempt.”

Apparently, Mr. Lane has a different opinion than I do as to what equal treatment is.
