I have been a member of Planned Parenthood and involved in the fight for reproductive rights for women for 30 years. It did not begin with Roe v. Wade. It`s a matter of public record that the religious right has opposed Planned Parenthood since its inception. They always considered contraceptives as abortifacients and are opposed to family planning information for anyone. You had a ridiculous editorial about turning the abortion issue over to the public. What do you think has been going on for all these years?
For many poor women, Planned Parenthood is the only gynecologic service they can have. If you think the current health care system can handle these women, you have been living in a cave. You always have letters from whining taxpayers. Who do you think is going to pay for the Supreme Court decision? We are all supporting at least seven other people as it is.
