The Hinsdale Humane Society would like to remind pet owners that while the Fourth of July may be a very exciting and fun-filled time for them, their pets may find the holiday to be quite the opposite.
The noise and confusion that accompany traditional fireworks can be very frightening for pets, especially those left unattended, indoors or out. A frightened animal may try to escape from a house or car and once outside may be injured or become disoriented in an attempt to distance itself from the frightening noise.
To assure your pet a calm and safe Fourth of July, observe local ordinances by not allowing your pet to run loose and provide for his safety and comfort by affording him as quiet and secure a place as possible in which to pass the holiday.
