Jack Pekow, 96, chief executive officer of Acorn Tire and Supply Co. on North Lincoln Avenue, died Thursday in Louis A. Weiss Memorial Hospital. He was active in the business until two weeks before his death. Mr. Pekow, who was born in Minsk, Byelorussia, and immigrated to the United States in 1912. He joined Acorn, which his brother Phil had founded, in 1939. Survivors include his wife, Margaret; two children, Jerry and Roslyn Siskin; seven grandcildren; and three great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in Temple B`nai Torah, 2789 Oak St., in Highland Park.
