I am responding to the 46-year-old ”Deadhead” who seemed so distressed that ”make-believers” were making up more and more of the Grateful Dead audience these days. I recently attended the Grateful Dead concert at Soldier Field and I was fully entertained.
I am not an aging hippie who has seen every show since 1967, nor does my wardrobe reflect the counter-culture that so obediently follows the rock group. I am a 19-year-old suburban student who finds the `60s a particularly interesting time in America. To be able to go to a concert where this era is still alive is fascinating as well as enjoyable.
The Deadheads still show the love and peace that so characterized that era and they are a joy to be with and be a part of.
