Having pets neutered is the best way to control the excessive population of unwanted pets. Pounds kill millions of animals annually, at a cost of millions in tax dollars.

Neutering also can benefit individual pets. Altered animals are less inclined to stray. They avoid several forms of cancer and other diseases. Male dogs and cats become less aggressive but lose none of their personalities.

You might think you don`t need to have your dog or cat spayed, but according to the Humane Society of the United States, a recent survey showed that 27 percent of dog and cat litters result from the ”whoops factor”-

matings by accident. The canvass also showed that, among households where pets have not been spayed or neutered, 17 percent of owners thought the procedure was unnecessary and another 18 percent hadn`t considered it.
