Your issue of June 30 contained a letter from a Stanley B. Balbach regarding a proposed bill whereby interest on personal injury judgments, starting to accrue from the date the complaint was filed, was suggested.

As a former trial lawyer for a major railroad based in Chicago, I would hope his proposed bill would also provide that the plaintiff, in a losing lawsuit, would pay into court the same amount of interest as was demanded in the complaint.

Can you imagine the screams?
