Nels G. Roseland, 85, a long-time resident of the Rogers Park neighborhood, died Saturday in Dobson Plaza nursing home in Evanston. Mr. Roseland was a maintenance man for North Side apartment buildings for more than 50 years. He was a native of Norway and arrived in the United States in 1923. He is survived by his wife, Mollie; two daughters, Joan Haley and Nancy Eltgroth; a son, Jerry; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three brothers; and a sister. Mass will be said at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Jerome Catholic Church, 1790 W. Lunt Ave.
